The Express Global Logistics (EXG) team and their partner successfully transported the first of 30 OSD (Orthotropic Steel Decks), weighing an incredible 1362 MT.
Transportation was done for one of India's most significant infrastructure projects, the "Mumbai Trans Harbour Link Project (MTHL)". The cargo was moved to the Heavy Civil Infrastructure IC site, Sewri, Mumbai.
The OSD measured L 118 m x W 14.87 m x H 7.5 m. The cargo was transported on 12 axle line x 4 (48 axles) and a 12 axle line x 2 ( 24 axles), totalling 72 self-propelled modular transporters (SPMT) axle lines with 4 Power Pack Units (PPU).
The first of the 30 pieces of cargo was moved from the manufacturing unit's assembly line to Kerosene Jetty; the load transfer at the jetty was done from SPMT to the skid chair car.
